About this role
MERGE is a health and wellness marketing and technology agency, and this role sits at the operational center of their talent function. As Director of Talent Management, you'd own the execution of performance management cycles, talent reviews, and employee relations while serving as the backbone of the broader Talent roadmap. This is a hands-on position for someone who thrives on creating structure, establishing accountability, and driving initiatives to completion—you'll be equally comfortable managing the details of an offboarding process and holding cross-functional project owners accountable to timelines.
The day-to-day involves leading performance management and talent reviews, guiding managers through employee relations matters, and maintaining the systems and documentation that keep Talent processes running smoothly. You'll also develop working knowledge of payroll operations to provide continuity coverage during absences, and mentor junior team members. Success means anticipating risks before they escalate, keeping leadership informed with clear reporting, and ensuring that recurring processes have the documentation and cross-training needed to reduce dependency on any single person.
This role requires an experienced operator comfortable with both strategic program management and tactical execution. You'll need strong judgment to handle moderately complex employee relations issues independently while knowing when to escalate, plus the discipline to maintain accurate records and drive compliance. The hybrid arrangement and $110,000–$120,000 salary reflect a full-time commitment to building the operational discipline that allows Talent leadership to focus on strategy.
