About this role
Supporting Isar Aerospace's reusability program, this working student role focuses on translating flight test data into avionics architecture decisions for their Spectrum vehicle. You'll work alongside the engineering team to size actuators, plan instrumentation layouts, and define system requirements—bridging preliminary design studies with practical constraints from existing hardware and specialist departments like GNC. The work demands structured analysis and trade-off documentation to inform program-level decisions.
The position suits someone enrolled in an aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering program with genuine hands-on experience in avionics design and system layout. You'll need proficiency in CAD tools, strong communication for cross-departmental coordination, and the ability to juggle shifting priorities. Background in student engineering competitions or amateur rocketry is valued but not required; German language skills are a bonus.
Isar Aerospace offers the standard perks of a growing space company—subsidized meals, flexible mobility options, sports memberships, and mental health support—alongside the appeal of working on reusable launch technology in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Parsdorf, Bavaria.
