About this role
Calusa Veterinary Center, a full-service animal hospital in Boca Raton, is looking for a Boarding and Kennel Manager to oversee daily operations of their boarding facility and lead a team of kennel staff. You'd manage check-ins and check-outs, maintain compliance with health and sanitation standards, coordinate reservations, and ensure each animal receives appropriate care according to individual plans. The role requires close coordination with the veterinary team on medical needs, accurate record-keeping, and verification of vaccination requirements before admission.
Beyond facility operations, you'd hire and manage kennel technicians and assistants, create schedules across weekends and holidays, and handle performance feedback and staff concerns. You'll also serve as the primary contact for boarding clients, addressing their questions and concerns while promoting additional services like grooming and training. The position demands at least two years of kennel or veterinary experience plus prior supervisory or management experience, along with the ability to lift 50 lbs and work comfortably with dogs and cats of all sizes.
This is a part-time role with a flexible schedule mixing 7am–3pm and 1pm–9pm shifts. The salary ranges from $20 to $23 per hour based on experience. While listed as part-time, the job description references full-time benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k)—clarifying this with the hiring team would be important before applying.
