About this role
Accredited Insurance is seeking a Senior Accountant to own US statutory and GAAP reporting for two insurance entities based in Orlando. This hybrid role sits at the center of financial close operations, managing end-to-end ledger work across both statutory and US GAAP frameworks. You'll oversee technical and non-technical accounts, coordinate period-end closes, manage reinsurer and claims cash balances, and ensure timely adherence to working day timetables. The position also involves tax filing support, cash management oversight, and first-pass statutory reporting that feeds to senior finance leadership.
The role demands deep technical accounting knowledge—specifically US GAAP and statutory reporting—paired with strong SAP and Excel proficiency. You'll need 5 to 7 years of commercial insurance accounting experience and a CPA, plus the ability to analyze complex data, manage multiple deadlines, and work across teams (FP&A, AP, operations). A proactive approach to process improvement and the capacity to adapt to shifting priorities are essential, as is familiarity with insurance-specific concepts like legacy accounts, reinsurer payables, and loss caps.
This is a full-time position offering $90,000 to $105,000 annually. It suits someone with solid insurance accounting credentials who wants hands-on involvement in close processes and regulatory compliance, and who can thrive in a structured but dynamic environment.
