Description

In a nutshell

We’re looking for a Designer Working Student to help bring Picnic’s people, culture and opportunities to life. You’ll join our Employer Branding team and help shape how candidates experience Picnic, with a particular focus on our LinkedIn page and campaigns.

You’ll create and edit visual content for our employer brand, combining design and video to tell stories that catch people’s attention. You’ll also take ownership of the processes behind our LinkedIn campaigns: helping plan content, coordinate assets, publish posts and keep campaigns running smoothly. From a first idea to the final edit and post, you’ll help make sure our content feels distinctive, engaging and true to Picnic.

You’ll work with colleagues across Employer Branding and our wider Creative team of 20+ specialists, including designers, videographers and copywriters. Together, you’ll make content that reaches candidates across the Netherlands, France and Germany.

Tricks of the trade

  • Create employer brand content: Design and edit visuals and videos for Picnic’s LinkedIn page, campaigns and other employer branding channels.
  • Own LinkedIn campaign processes: Help plan campaign content, coordinate the assets and timelines, publish posts and keep the process organised from start to finish.
  • Bring stories to life: Turn ideas, interviews and raw footage into clear, engaging content that shows what it’s like to work at Picnic.
  • Adapt content for different formats: Resize and refine designs and edits for different channels and placements, while keeping the look and message consistent.
  • Support the creative process: Work with Employer Branding and Creative colleagues to develop ideas, gather feedback and deliver content on time.
  • Learn and improve: Keep an eye on how content performs and use what you learn to help improve future posts and campaigns.

Your superpowers

  • You’re currently studying Visual Design, Graphic Design, Communication, Media, or a similar creative field.
  • You’re excited by both visual design and video editing, and keen to work across formats.
  • You have a portfolio or examples of your creative work that show a good eye for detail and a feel for visual storytelling.
  • You have experience with, or are keen to develop your skills in, tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects. Familiarity with Figma is a plus.
  • You’re organised and comfortable taking ownership of a process, managing details and following through on deadlines.
  • You’re proactive, open to feedback and happy to roll up your sleeves in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English (Dutch, French or German are a plus!)

About this role

Picnic's Employer Branding team is looking for a design-focused working student to create and manage visual content that attracts talent across the Netherlands, France and Germany. You'd own the full lifecycle of LinkedIn campaigns—from initial planning through design, video editing, asset coordination and publishing—while collaborating with a creative team of 20+ designers, videographers and copywriters. The role sits at the intersection of visual storytelling and campaign operations, so you'd need to be equally comfortable designing graphics in Adobe Creative Suite and editing video as you are managing timelines and keeping processes organised.

You should be studying Visual Design, Graphic Design, Communication, Media or a related field, with a portfolio demonstrating strong visual instincts and storytelling ability. Hands-on experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro is expected; After Effects and Figma knowledge would strengthen your application. Beyond technical skills, you'll need to be proactive, detail-oriented and able to take feedback well in a fast-paced startup environment. Fluency in English is essential; Dutch, French or German would be advantageous.

The position is full-time and based in Amsterdam, with an hourly rate of €16.75 plus laptop provision and travel reimbursement. Picnic offers the typical perks of a growing startup—learning opportunities, diverse team environment, fresh daily lunches and mental health support—alongside the appeal of contributing to a sustainable, electric-vehicle business.
