About this role
LS3P's Charleston office is seeking a licensed architect to lead its higher education practice locally—a role that balances business development, client stewardship, design oversight, and team leadership in roughly equal measure. You'd be expected to function as the firm's subject matter expert in higher education, regularly presenting to clients and consistently winning new work in this sector. The position requires someone with at least eight years of experience in the higher education market who has demonstrated success building client relationships and closing business.
The work spans four main areas: driving revenue growth, managing and deepening client relationships, maintaining design quality across projects, and developing the local team. You'll collaborate with the office leadership and a national market leader while executing LS3P's higher education strategy at the Charleston level. Success means understanding the regulatory and operational landscape of the market, identifying new opportunities alongside local and national colleagues, and leading proposal efforts that position the firm competitively.
This is an in-office role suited to someone who thrives in both design and business contexts—someone comfortable with financial planning and resource allocation, skilled at client engagement, and capable of leading and aligning teams around shared goals. LS3P emphasizes design excellence, collaborative culture, and community impact across its twelve-office Southeast footprint, and offers professional development support and schedule flexibility alongside competitive compensation.
