About the Role: As a Technical Recruiter, you'll play a key role in scaling our engineering organization by attracting and hiring exceptional technical talent. You'll recruit across a wide range of roles, including Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, AI Engineers, and other specialized technical positions. You'll partner closely with engineering leaders and hiring managers to understand their needs, develop creative sourcing strategies, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience. This is an exciting opportunity to help build high-performing teams working at the forefront of building AI products for the Insurance space.
- 4+ years of technical recruiting experience preferably in startup/scaleup environments
- ATS proficient and savvy in other systems (LinkedIn Recruiter, G-Suite, Slack, etc). Workday experience is a plus.
- Pitch and sell candidates on the opportunity. Work directly with hiring managers.
- Expertise writing compelling sourcing messages and attracting passive candidates
- Enthusiastic / positive outlook, and a high motor to come in be extremely productive while working independently with team and management support
- Ability to work out on our NYC or Chicago office a couple days/week preferred
Responsibilities:
- Participate in weekly recruiting meetings with hiring managers and stakeholders that demonstrate quantifiable progress in filling roles
- Conduct ~5 technical candidate interviews each day
- Strategically source 50-100+ candidates per week with the goal of achieving a 20%+ response rate
- Utilize resources at your disposal such as: job ads, sourcing tools and LinkedIn Recruiter to build a pipeline of amazing talent

About this role
EvolutionIQ is looking for a Technical Recruiter to help build out their engineering team as they scale their AI-powered insurance claims platform. You'll own the full recruiting cycle across software engineers, machine learning engineers, AI specialists, and other technical roles, working directly with engineering leaders to understand their needs and deliver candidates who fit. The pace is fast—you'll conduct around five technical interviews daily and source 50-100+ candidates weekly, with a target response rate of 20% or higher.
This contract role suits someone with at least four years of technical recruiting experience, ideally from startup or scaleup environments where you've learned to move quickly and work independently. You'll need strong skills in ATS systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other tools like Workday, plus the ability to write compelling sourcing messages that engage passive candidates. The role demands a high motor, a positive attitude, and comfort pitching opportunities to candidates while managing relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders.
The position is based in New York City or Chicago (hybrid, with a couple days per week in office preferred) and runs for three months initially with potential extension. You'll be compensated at approximately $60/hour as a 1099 contractor, with flexibility based on experience.
