Description

Our Story

At thinkcell, we create powerful software solutions that help professionals be more efficient and productive. Founded in 2002 and based in Berlin, our tools integrate seamlessly with Microsoft Office to help users create presentations, charts, and diagrams with ease. Our dynamic, international team values creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence.

What You Will Do

As a Working Student in our Academics team, you will support the day-to-day operations and growth of thinkcell’s academic program. You will work on a broad range of tasks, from handling program requests and supporting outreach to coordinating workshops and improving processes.

Our academic program gives students and professors free access to thinkcell and helps them develop practical skills in data visualization and storytelling. You will help us bring these opportunities to more universities, faculty members, and student clubs worldwide (find out more here). We have big plans to grow the program significantly with the next years – and you can be apart of it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support program operations: Help manage our academic inbox, respond to student and faculty inquiries, and coordinate license requests, renewals, and extensions with the team
  • Review new applications: Research faculty members and institutions, assess eligibility against program guidelines, and prepare responses and next steps
  • Support academic outreach: Identify relevant professors and student clubs, draft personalized outreach, and follow up with existing contacts to build engagement
  • Coordinate workshops: Work with student clubs and faculty to schedule workshops, organize logistics, and keep contact information up to date
  • Contribute across the team: Support ongoing projects and ad hoc tasks, taking ownership of defined activities as you gain experience

You will be great for this position if you have:

  • Studies: Currently enrolled in business, computer science, or a related field, with at least two years of university studies completed – undergraduate degree is a plus
  • Mindset & Skills: Proactive and comfortable working independently, with strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail. Well organized, reliable, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Microsoft Office: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Language & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
  • Availability & Location: Available for 20 hours per week, including at least two days per week at our headquarters in Berlin
  • Presentation experience: Experience creating presentations in PowerPoint is a strong plus; familiarity with thinkcell is an added advantage

Our Values

As part of our team, you will embody and help shape the following principles that define us:

Forward Thinking: We embrace change and challenge the status quo.

Ownership: We take pride in our work and learn from our mistakes.

Customer First: We prioritize delivering lasting value.

Unified Team: We foster collaboration, respect, and integrity.

About this role

think-cell's Academics team is building a global program that gives students and professors free access to presentation and data visualization software. As a Working Student, you'd handle the operational backbone of this initiative—managing inquiries, reviewing faculty applications, identifying outreach opportunities, and coordinating workshops with universities and student clubs worldwide. The role spans administrative coordination, research, and relationship building, with real ownership of defined projects as you settle in.

You should have at least two years completed in business, computer science, or a related field, strong organizational skills, and fluency in both English and German. Proficiency in Microsoft Office—particularly Excel and PowerPoint—is essential, and any hands-on experience creating presentations or familiarity with thinkcell itself is valuable. The position requires 20 hours per week with a minimum of two days on-site at their Berlin headquarters, so you need genuine availability and a proactive mindset to work independently and problem-solve.

This suits someone who wants practical experience in a growing program at an established software company with a genuinely international footprint. You'd be contributing directly to expanding access to professional tools in academia while developing skills in program management and stakeholder engagement.
