About this role

AAB's Cork office is looking for an Audit Assistant Manager to step into a supervisory role within their audit team. You'd manage a client portfolio, oversee junior staff, and handle audit engagements from planning through completion—working directly with Directors and Partners on mid-market clients. This is positioned as a clear next step for someone with at least two years post-qualification experience who's ready to take on leadership responsibilities alongside technical audit work.

The role demands a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with strong knowledge of Irish accounting standards and statutory requirements. You'll need solid Excel skills and ideally experience with CCH accounts software. Beyond the technical side, the position emphasizes client relationship management and the ability to mentor junior team members—so communication, approachability, and collaborative working matter as much as audit competence. It suits someone ambitious about developing leadership and client-facing skills while continuing to build technical expertise in a structured professional services environment.
