About this role
Clark Schaefer Hackett is looking for an Audit Senior to lead engagements and develop junior staff in their Cincinnati office. You'd manage audit projects from start to finish for a client base centered on financial services—community banks and investment companies—overseeing team members, evaluating controls and financial records, and delivering recommendations to help clients strengthen their reporting. The role balances hands-on audit work with supervisory responsibility: you'll prepare and review workpapers and financial statements, document conclusions with supporting evidence, and coach staff auditors while also managing budgets, timelines, and your own utilization.
The position requires at least two years of public accounting audit experience, ideally with financial institution clients, plus a bachelor's degree in accounting. A CPA is preferred. You'll need solid grounding in GAAP and AICPA audit standards, strong project management skills, and the ability to juggle competing priorities independently or as part of a team. The firm emphasizes communication, collaboration, and follow-through—this is a role for someone who can lead engagements while staying detail-oriented and client-focused.
The hybrid setup in Cincinnati comes with five weeks of PTO plus a firm shutdown week, comprehensive health and retirement benefits, and a stated commitment to career development and a supportive culture. This is a solid next step if you're ready to take ownership of complex audits and grow into a leadership track in public accounting.
