DLH is seeking a CANES subject matter expert to develop training curriculum that keeps Navy fleet operations current with the latest system baselines. Working onsite at Naval Station Norfolk, you'll review CANES updates and configuration changes, then translate that technical information into practical courseware, lesson plans, lab exercises, and supporting materials using Navy authoring tools like CPM/LOM and AIM. The role sits at the intersection of systems knowledge and instructional design—you'll apply structured training development methodology while ensuring materials reflect real-world shipboard network administration and operational standards.
This contract position requires at least five years supporting computerized systems in operational or sustainment environments, with demonstrated hands-on experience in Navy TACNET, CANES, or similar C4I systems. You'll need strong shipboard network architecture knowledge, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and an active Secret Clearance. DoD 8570 or 8140 cybersecurity certification is required within nine months of hire. The role pays $35–$37 per hour and is best suited for someone with recent CANES or COMPOSE experience, ideally with a background in fleet sustainment or prior work developing technical documentation and training materials.
