About this role

10a Labs is building out a new 24/7 safety and threat-intelligence operation, and they're looking for an experienced law enforcement leader to establish and run it. As the Principal Imminent Risk Specialist, you'd be the first hire in this function—leading a team across day, evening, and overnight shifts while staying hands-on with the core work of reviewing and flagging high-stakes threat cases. You'd own everything from hiring and training Junior and Senior Specialists to building shift schedules, running quality assurance, and serving as the main point of contact between the team and the client.

This role demands someone with at least four years in law enforcement or related work, plus demonstrated expertise in threat assessment, crisis intervention, or violent crime investigation. You'll need real experience supervising teams and managing multi-shift operations, along with the judgment and composure to make difficult calls on ambiguous, high-risk cases. The work involves regular exposure to graphic and distressing content—threats of violence, violent extremism—so emotional resilience and comfort with that reality are essential. The company provides mental health support and wellness resources to help with that.

The position is fully remote from a U.S. base, weekday daytime hours with some flexibility needed while you're building out the evening and overnight teams. It's a 12-month engagement with possible extension, offering $150,000–$170,000 depending on experience, generous PTO, and a 401(k) plan. You'll need to be a U.S. person and pass a background check.
