Description

The Professional Services Project Engineer delivers ITC's client technology projects across Microsoft 365 and identity, network, server, cloud, and endpoint environments, from scoping and planning through cutover and a quality-controlled handoff to service.

Beyond technical execution, this engineer plans the work, runs client calls, documents thoroughly, and drives vendors to resolution. The role handles many small projects at once as well as large multi-site and multi-company programs.

This is a hands-on delivery role. The Project Engineer is accountable for completing projects to scope, on schedule, and fully documented, leaving each environment ready for Service to support.

2. Cloud, Server & Infrastructure

  • Deliver new-site network buildouts.
  • Execute device deployments and refreshes.
  • Enroll devices through Intune and Autopilot, and manage application rollouts.
  • Conduct site surveys and network assessments.
4. Security & Compliance
  • Roll out MFA, EDR, and backup across client environments.
  • Deliver compliance-driven builds, including GCC, CMMC, and CJIS.
5. Project Execution & Post Go-Live Support
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings to align on scope, timelines, expectations, and risks.
  • Scope projects and prepare estimates.
  • Complete assigned tasks as defined in client Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Build test, cutover, and rollback plans.
  • Provide post go-live support to stabilize and optimize client environments.
  • Complete a QC'd handoff to service.
6. Project Communication, Documentation & Automation
  • Send weekly client-facing project status updates and participate in check-in meetings.
  • Communicate proactively with clients and internal teams about changes, outages, and project impacts.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and co-managed IT teams, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Maintain clear and thorough documentation of systems, configurations, and project processes.
  • Record daily time entries, expenses, and work notes in ConnectWise.
  • Participate in project debriefs and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Use PowerShell and other tools to automate repetitive work.

The IT Project Engineer is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Scope includes:

About this role

In-Telecom's Professional Services Project Engineer role centers on delivering end-to-end technology implementations for clients across Microsoft 365, cloud infrastructure, networking, and security. You'll own projects from initial scoping through cutover and handoff to the support team, managing multiple concurrent engagements ranging from small implementations to large multi-site programs. This is hands-on technical work: you'll configure Entra ID and Microsoft 365 environments, deploy Azure infrastructure and AVD, build out networks and endpoints, and ensure every project is fully documented and production-ready before transitioning to Service Delivery.

The role demands strong project execution skills alongside technical depth. You'll run client kickoffs and weekly status calls, coordinate with vendors and co-managed teams to resolve issues, maintain detailed documentation in ConnectWise, and communicate proactively about scope changes and risks. Success requires at least four years in IT infrastructure with a minimum of two years delivering client projects at an MSP or consulting firm—experience managing projects end-to-end is essential, not just hands-on technical skills.

This position suits someone who is self-directed, organized, and comfortable juggling multiple workstreams in a client-focused environment. Hands-on experience with Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Azure, firewalls, and PowerShell is valued, as are relevant Microsoft, Fortinet, or CompTIA certifications. The role is full-time, in-office in Louisiana, and includes standard benefits with medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and PTO.
