About this role

Veritas Veterinary Partners is building a new specialty surgical practice in Denver and is looking for surgical veterinary assistants to help launch it. You'd start with training at their Wheat Ridge location before the Wash Park facility opens in December 2026, giving you the chance to grow into the role from the ground up alongside board-certified specialists in a state-of-the-art environment. The position involves pre-operative patient prep, supporting surgical and anesthesia teams during procedures, monitoring recovery, maintaining instruments and surgical areas, and documenting care—work that demands attention to detail, physical capability with patient handling, and comfort in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.

This role suits someone with prior veterinary assistant experience, ideally with exposure to surgery or anesthesia, who is genuinely interested in specialty medicine and wants to develop deeper surgical skills. You'd work Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. initially, with weekend availability expected as the practice expands. The pay is $23–$25 per hour based on experience, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, six weeks paid parental leave, continuing education support, and mental health resources through Talkspace.
