About this role

EQT is seeking someone to drive strategic M&A, asset divestiture, and energy transition opportunities from initial screening through execution and beyond. As an Associate Strategic Execution, you'd own the financial modeling and valuation work that underpins these deals, while also coordinating due diligence across finance, technical, commercial, and legal teams. The role demands both independent analytical rigor—building models, stress-testing scenarios, identifying analytical frameworks—and collaborative communication skills to present findings and investment theses to senior leadership.

This position suits candidates with 4+ years in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or energy-focused roles who combine strong Excel and financial modeling skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations. You'll need a solid grasp of energy industry dynamics and the judgment to evaluate risk, reward, and strategic fit. Experience with financial databases and presenting to executives is valued. The work is based in Houston and requires in-office presence, with the expectation that you'll move fluidly between detailed independent work and cross-functional team coordination in a fast-paced environment.
