About this role
Stage 1 Financial, part of KKR's insurance subsidiaries under Global Atlantic Financial Group, is seeking an Associate to manage third-party reinsurance relationships and serve as the central hub for reinsurance operations on life and annuity products. You'd be the primary liaison between internal teams (product development, actuarial, legal, IT) and external partners including reinsurers and the reinsurance administrator. This role involves analyzing the financial impact of coverage changes, overseeing the TPA's work and internal modeling efforts, and presenting program performance and strategic recommendations to senior management.
The position requires three to five years in financial services with exposure to reinsurance or an actuarial background, plus familiarity with life and annuity products. You'll need strong communication skills to translate technical reinsurance concepts for non-technical audiences, the ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders, and a self-directed approach to identifying issues and proposing solutions. Escalated questions on pricing, implementation, or reinsurance queries will land on your desk, making this a role suited to someone comfortable being the go-to expert across multiple functions.
Based in Des Moines and full-time in-office, the position offers a salary range of $115,000 to $130,000 with eligibility for discretionary performance-based bonuses.
