Description

340B Analyst

Model Oncology | Nashville, TN or Atlanta, GA (preferred)

About Model Oncology

Model Oncology partners with community health systems to build and operate sustainable oncology programs. The organization does not function as a conventional consultancy that delivers a strategy and exits, nor as a traditional management services organization administering back-office functions at a distance. Model Oncology embeds directly within each partner organization, operating alongside health system teams and assuming accountability for program outcomes over the long term.

The organization’s work encompasses program design, physician recruitment, clinical research, pharmacy strategy, and the technology and operational infrastructure required for community health systems to deliver high-quality cancer care locally. The through line is clinical and scientific excellence: bringing trials, advanced therapies, and capability normally reserved for academic centers into the communities that need them. Model Oncology holds itself to the standard of a genuine, accountable partner rather than a vendor.

Position Summary

Model Oncology is seeking a 340B Analyst to manage day-to-day 340B Program operations for a partner health system. Reporting to the Vice President of Pharmacy Solutions and Strategy, this individual will work embedded alongside the health system’s pharmacy, finance, and compliance teams to keep the program compliant, audit-ready, adaptable to market changes, and performing at full value. The role covers the full operational cycle: patient and location eligibility, split-billing and TPA oversight, purchasing account integrity, duplicate discount prevention, self-auditing, and HRSA and manufacturer requirements. As Model Oncology expands its presence, the programs and standards this role builds will help health systems across the country sustain patient access to oncology care. This role requires hands-on 340B operational experience, strong analytical skills, and the judgment to turn regulatory guidance and manufacturer policy changes into workable processes.

Responsibilities

  - Monitor 340B drug use and validate use only for eligible patients at registered locations, including patient eligibility reviews in mixed-use areas and clinics based on medical records, insurance, and patient status

  - Conduct monthly self-audits of mixed-use, retail, and contract pharmacy claims to identify diversion, duplicate discount, and other compliance risks; report findings and track corrective actions to completion

  - Prevent Medicaid duplicate discounts by monitoring state Medicaid claims and maintaining accurate Medicaid Exclusion File entries

  - Manage the split-billing and TPA relationship, including review of ordering, positive and negative accumulations, and unmapped items; resolve issues promptly with TPA partners

  - Maintain compliant supplier and wholesaler account setups and train pharmacy purchasing staff on correct account selection for inventory replenishment

  - Maintain audit-ready documentation and support HRSA and manufacturer audits, including sampling, responses, and corrective action follow-up

  - Manage 340B OPAIS records for accuracy and support HRSA annual recertification

  - Track changes in HRSA guidance, manufacturer policies, and state requirements; update policies, procedures, and internal controls accordingly; and support timely, accurate submissions to manufacturer data platforms

  - Identify opportunities to improve savings capture and operational efficiency while upholding compliance standards, and provide data, reports, and analysis to program leadership and other business units

  - Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  - Minimum five (5) years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably including pharmacy operations, compliance, or revenue cycle

  - Minimum one (1) year of 340B program operations experience

  - Hands-on experience with Epic and a split-billing platform

  - Completion of 340B University within 180 days of hire and the Advanced 340B Operations Certificate within 18 months of hire

  - Apexus certificate preferred

  - Certified pharmacy technician preferred

  - Three (3) years of pharmacy purchasing or 340B program experience preferred

Why Model Oncology

Model Oncology is a fast-growing organization with highly experienced team members, engaged in work with significant real-world impact: expanding access to cancer care in the communities that need it most. Given the organization’s early stage, this role offers the opportunity for immediate, visible contribution and meaningful influence over how pharmacy financial sustainability is built as the organization scales.

About this role

Model Oncology is embedding a 340B Analyst directly within a partner health system to own the day-to-day compliance and operational performance of their 340B program. Reporting to the Vice President of Pharmacy Solutions and Strategy, you'll work alongside the health system's pharmacy, finance, and compliance teams to ensure the program stays compliant, audit-ready, and optimized for value. The work spans the full operational cycle: patient and location eligibility verification, split-billing and TPA management, duplicate discount prevention, self-auditing, and coordination with HRSA and manufacturer requirements. You'll also track regulatory and policy changes and translate them into workable internal processes.

This role demands hands-on 340B operational expertise and analytical rigor. You'll need at least five years in healthcare (ideally pharmacy operations, compliance, or revenue cycle) plus a minimum of one year managing 340B programs. Proficiency with Epic and a split-billing platform is required. You'll be expected to complete 340B University within six months and the Advanced 340B Operations Certificate within 18 months; a pharmacy technician credential and Apexus certificate are preferred, as is deeper experience in pharmacy purchasing or 340B work.

The contract position is based in Nashville, Tennessee (Atlanta, Georgia preferred) and requires in-office presence. Model Oncology operates as an embedded partner rather than a traditional consultant, meaning the standards and processes you build here will inform how the organization scales its pharmacy strategy across other health systems. If you're looking for a role where your compliance and operational work directly shapes access to cancer care in underserved communities, this offers both immediate impact and the chance to influence organizational growth early.
