About this role
Leading an Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation unit at the Department of State requires someone with deep expertise in foreign and security assistance programs and the proven ability to manage a technical team. This role sits at the intersection of policy oversight and program management, where you'd direct all AM&E activities for Foreign Military Financing and International Military Education and Training initiatives while supervising staff and serving as the primary liaison between DOS and the broader Dexis team. The work demands strong command of evidence-based evaluation frameworks, data collection protocols, and reporting standards specific to State Department requirements.
The ideal candidate brings at least ten years of professional experience, including five years designing or conducting large-scale M&E analytics for international programs and three years leading an M&E team. You'll need a Master's degree, an active Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain one), and demonstrated fluency in State Department writing and briefing conventions. Beyond the technical qualifications, this position rewards someone who can synthesize complex information for executive audiences, manage multiple concurrent projects, and build a positive team environment while maintaining high analytical standards.
This is a contract position based in Washington, D.C., with a salary range of $145,000 to $190,000. Note that the role is contingent upon contract award.
