Today, SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of making life multiplanetary and expanding consciousness to the stars.

About this role

Xai is seeking a Senior Linux Data Center Technician to join its Memphis-area operations supporting SpaceXSI's supercomputer and AI infrastructure. This is a hands-on role managing the health and performance of servers and network equipment across data centers and global points of presence. You'll own critical operational metrics like mean time to detect and mean time to repair, troubleshooting hardware failures, racking and stacking equipment, managing fiber and power infrastructure, and handling inventory and asset management. The position requires on-site presence during construction phases, emergency response availability via cell phone, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as operational needs dictate.

The role demands at least five years of direct experience with server, storage, and network hardware repair and troubleshooting, plus equivalent time managing inventory and logistics for infrastructure equipment. You'll need strong Linux fundamentals—file system navigation, shell manipulation, user permissions, package management, and process troubleshooting—along with physical capability to work in tight spaces, lift 35 pounds regularly, and operate safely at heights up to 50 feet. Experience with structured cabling, power and cooling systems, and data center infrastructure projects is preferred. This is a full-time, in-office position in Southaven, Mississippi, subject to drug testing and background checks.
