About this role

Ascension's oncology department in Baltimore is seeking a Senior Certified Medical Assistant to take on both clinical and mentoring responsibilities. You'll perform core diagnostic procedures—venipuncture, ECGs, vital signs, and lab tests—while managing patient intake, maintaining exam room readiness, and supporting real-time clinical documentation. Beyond direct patient care, you'll train and mentor staff on equipment and procedures, troubleshoot technical issues, and uphold quality control standards across the department.

This role requires current Medical Assistant certification and Basic Life Support certification (obtained within 30 days of hire). A high school diploma or one year of relevant clinical experience meets the education requirement. The position is full-time and in-office at an Ascension facility, part of a nonprofit Catholic health system recognized for workplace culture and support. If you're a certified medical assistant with clinical depth and interest in developing others, this is a substantive step into a senior position within an oncology setting.
