About this role

WelbeHealth's Dispatcher role centers on coordinating transportation services for vulnerable seniors in the San Jose area, managing the logistics that connect participants to their healthcare and community resources. You'll handle daily scheduling, active dispatching, and real-time problem-solving—adjusting for cancellations, add-ons, and last-minute changes while keeping drivers, participants, and clinic teams informed and aligned. The work requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing demands throughout the day.

This position requires a minimum of four years in public or private transportation and two years specifically in dispatching. You'll need a valid state driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and must pass a DOT physical, background check, and participate in substance testing programs. The role is in-office in San Jose and includes occasional weekend coverage. Compensation ranges from $27 to $31 per hour, plus a bonus component, with benefits including medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and 35 days of paid time off annually.

WelbeHealth emphasizes that this dispatcher role differs because it's grounded in genuine care for participants—you're not just moving people between locations, but supporting their connection to care and their sense of being respected and supported. If you have solid dispatching experience, strong organizational skills, and want to work for an organization that prioritizes both participant wellbeing and team member work-life balance, this could be a meaningful fit.
