About this role
CityVet's Oak Lawn clinic is hiring Licensed, Registered, or Certified Veterinary Technicians to work alongside veterinarians in a full-time, in-office role. You'll handle the technical and procedural work that keeps the clinic running smoothly—assisting in surgeries and dental procedures, managing anesthesia, drawing blood, restraining animals for examination, and supervising unlicensed staff on routine tasks. The role requires you to bridge communication between the operating room, front office, and clients, essentially freeing up the veterinarian to focus on diagnosis and treatment decisions.
To qualify, you'll need a current state license (LVT, RVT, or CVT), at least one year of veterinary experience, and solid knowledge of animal restraint, medical terminology, and medications. Depending on state regulations, you may perform certain procedures independently under veterinary supervision, such as suturing, inducing anesthesia, administering vaccines, and extracting loose teeth.
CityVet emphasizes supporting its team through a 401(k) with 4% match, comprehensive health and dental coverage, paid time off with flexible scheduling, free telemedicine, and an employee assistance program. The company frames the role around authentic, personal care—both for animals and the people who work there.
