  • Support project mobilization, field execution, closeout, and lessons learned.

Electrical Power Systems Engineering

  • Provide engineering support for generator and distributed generation systems.
  • Support generator paralleling, synchronization, controls, and associated Balance of Plant systems.
  • Review and support MV/LV electrical distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, breakers, ATS systems, protective relays, and electrical controls.
  • Develop, review, and modify single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, interconnection drawings, cable schedules/routing, and AutoCAD/CAD drawings.
  • Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, calculations, specifications, equipment documentation, and project requirements.
  • Identify design, equipment, installation, or integration issues and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
  • Support electrical system studies, equipment selection, technical evaluations, and constructability reviews as required.

Field Execution & Commissioning

  • Provide on-site technical leadership during installation, testing, energization, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, generator, controls, and system-integration issues.
  • Coordinate with technicians, operators, engineers, contractors, OEM representatives, and customer personnel.
  • Support commissioning plans, test procedures, punch lists, turnover documentation, and project closeout.
  • Ensure project work is performed in accordance with applicable technical requirements, safety expectations, and customer standards.

Project Management & PMO Support

  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement coordination, resource planning, risk management, and overall project delivery.
  • Help strengthen PRISMECS' project management processes, documentation, reporting, communication, and accountability.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, risks, action items, and open technical issues.
  • Coordinate across engineering, procurement, operations, commercial, and field teams.
  • Provide clear updates and reporting to leadership and customers.
  • Support multiple active projects as business priorities require.

Customer & Business Support

  • Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, site visits, project reviews, and planning sessions.
  • Develop strong working relationships with customers and key project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical input during proposal development, project scoping, and new opportunity evaluations.
  • Support the transition of new business opportunities from commercial discussions into successful project execution.
  • Identify additional customer or project opportunities where appropriate and communicate them to PRISMECS leadership.

This position will involve a combination of remote/home-based work, Houston-based activities, and travel to PRISMECS project locations.

Candidates should anticipate approximately 50% travel, although actual travel may be higher or lower depending on project schedules, mobilizations, customer requirements, commissioning activities, and overall business needs.

Field assignments may include extended periods at project locations followed by periods working remotely or from the Houston area. The specific schedule will be coordinated based on active project requirements.

PRISMECS will arrange or cover approved lodging for required project assignments in accordance with company policy.

About this role

Prismecs is looking for a seasoned electrical professional to lead projects across power generation, temporary power, data center, and energy infrastructure work. You'd own projects from planning through commissioning and handover, combining hands-on engineering support with project management and customer-facing leadership. The role demands comfort moving between technical problem-solving in the field, coordinating with contractors and vendors, and reporting to leadership—essentially bridging the gap between engineering rigor and project execution.

The work centers on generator systems, MV/LV distribution, switchgear, controls, and Balance of Plant infrastructure. You'll review designs and vendor submittals, troubleshoot integration issues during commissioning, develop electrical drawings and specifications, and support system studies and equipment selection. Expect to spend roughly half your time traveling to project sites for installation, testing, and startup activities, with the remainder split between Houston-based work and remote support.

This role suits someone with a degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field experience, a solid track record managing technical projects on-site, and genuine hands-on knowledge of generator systems and industrial electrical infrastructure. You should be comfortable wearing multiple hats—engineer, project manager, and customer advocate—and ready to help strengthen Prismecs' project management processes as the company grows.
