About this role

Waymo's Fleet Health Specialist role sits at the intersection of operations and engineering, responsible for translating fleet performance data into insights that keep autonomous vehicles running reliably across multiple markets. You'll analyze metrics on vehicle availability, identify root causes of downtime, and work across engineering, operations, and supplier teams to implement fixes that prevent issues from recurring at scale. The work includes both desk-based analysis—building reports, defining metrics with data science partners, and presenting findings to leadership—and field work, traveling to operational regions to inspect fleets and verify technical systems are functioning as intended.

The ideal candidate brings three or more years in automotive service, fleet management, or automotive technology development, with hands-on experience in technical root cause analysis. You'll need strong communication skills to influence cross-functional teams and a solid grasp of Google Workspace tools. While a background in automotive diagnostics, OEM experience, or data analytics languages like SQL or R is preferred, the core requirement is the ability to bridge data and operations to solve real problems in a complex autonomous driving environment.

Based in San Francisco with full-time, in-office work, this role reports to the Fleet Manager and offers a salary range of $62.50 to $76.93 per hour, plus eligibility for annual bonuses, equity, and company benefits.
