About this role

Friendship Hospital for Animals seeks a Board-Certified or residency-trained Veterinary Radiologist to lead diagnostic imaging in Washington, DC. You'll interpret studies across all major modalities—high-field MRI, multi-slice CT, digital radiography, and ultrasonography—while performing specialized procedures like image-guided biopsies and aspirates. The role emphasizes clinical autonomy paired with genuine multidisciplinary collaboration; you'll consult regularly with specialists in cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgery, and other services, as well as with regional referring veterinarians.

Beyond interpretation, you'll contribute to protocol development, scheduling optimization, and radiation safety standards alongside hospital leadership. A dedicated imaging technician team handles technical support, freeing you to focus on high-level diagnostic work and mentorship of rotating interns and nursing staff. This is a full-time, in-office position at a premier facility with modern PACS integration and workflow infrastructure designed to support efficient, evidence-based practice.

The role requires a DVM/VMD from an accredited program, DACVR board certification or completion of an ACVR-approved residency, and DC veterinary licensure. You'll need strong diagnostic precision, communication skills, and a genuine interest in collaborative, educational practice. The position offers a salary of $250,000–$300,000 and membership in the EVG Specialty Network, which provides access to continuing education and a broader community of specialty practitioners.
