Friendship Hospital for Animals is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees
About this role
Friendship Hospital for Animals is building a new dentistry and oral surgery service from the ground up, and they're looking for a board-certified veterinary dentist to lead it. This is a rare opportunity to design your own program—from scheduling and equipment selection to team composition and clinical protocols—rather than stepping into an established role. You'd have access to a built-in referral network across the DC metro area plus internal referrals from the hospital's primary care, emergency, and specialty services, giving you substantial patient volume from day one.
The work itself spans the full scope of advanced dentistry: complex endodontics, restorative procedures, periodontal therapy, oral trauma management, and maxillofacial oncologic surgery. You'd operate within a recently expanded 30,000+ sq. ft. facility with in-house CT/MRI imaging and dedicated specialty suites, supported by board-certified anesthesiologists and critical care specialists for medically complex cases. Beyond clinical work, you'd mentor interns and technicians while serving as an advocate for advanced veterinary dentistry to clients and referring veterinarians.
This role suits someone with demonstrated excellence in oral surgery and dentistry who also has entrepreneurial drive and strong communication skills. You'll need AVDC board certification (or board eligibility with a clear certification timeline) and DC veterinary licensure. The position offers $250,000–$300,000 annually, backed by EVG Specialty Network's support structure, including relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits.
