About this role

Howe, Inc. is seeking an experienced welder to join their team in Sioux Falls, fabricating and installing custom metal components for commercial projects. You'll work across multiple materials—aluminum, steel, galvanized, and stainless steel—using a range of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW), with particular emphasis on stick and TIG welding. The role combines shop-based fabrication with field work at job sites, so you'll need to be comfortable both in a controlled environment and adapting to varying conditions on location.

This position requires a minimum of five years in pipe welding and metal fabrication, along with current 6G and stainless certification (or the ability to obtain it). Beyond welding itself, you'll prepare materials through grinding, cutting, drilling, and tapping; read blueprints to ensure accuracy; and maintain equipment and workspace to company standards. Pipe fitting experience is a plus. The job demands physical capability—lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, working at heights on ladders or lifts, and maintaining balance and hand-eye coordination over extended periods.

You'll need a high school diploma or equivalent, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while following safety protocols consistently. If you have solid pipe welding credentials and are looking for steady full-time work that splits your time between shop and field, this role is worth considering.
