About this role

CBIZ is seeking a Commercial Insurance Account Executive to manage mid-to-large, complex commercial clients within its national independent agency platform based in Kansas City. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for each account, coordinating internal resources across placement, risk control, claims, and analytics to deliver integrated solutions. The role demands deep industry knowledge of your clients' operations and risk profiles, enabling you to develop tailored strategies for multi-line commercial programs spanning property, casualty, and specialty coverage.

Your day-to-day work involves leading renewals and new business implementations, conducting detailed coverage and exposure analysis, and negotiating with national and regional carriers to optimize terms and pricing. You'll also identify gaps in coverage, recommend value-added services like risk control and analytics, and guide clients through RFP processes and market changes. This is fundamentally a relationship and strategy role—you're expected to build trust with CFOs, Risk Managers, and executives while managing the operational details of complex accounts through CBIZ's technology systems.

The position requires an active Property & Casualty license, up to six years of experience managing increasingly complex client portfolios, and technical knowledge of contract provisions, claims processing, and alternative funding arrangements. A bachelor's degree and professional designations such as CIC, CRM, ARM, or CPCU are preferred. This is a contract role requiring in-office presence in Kansas City and travel based on client needs.
