About this role

Interstates is seeking an IT Infrastructure Administrator to manage the backbone of their operations across electrical, controls, and automation projects nationwide. This Tier 2 role owns the administration and security of servers, networks, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems—handling everything from Active Directory and Microsoft 365 to virtualization, patch management, disaster recovery, and user access controls. You'll troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, work with vendors and internal teams to implement solutions, and identify opportunities to automate and standardize processes. The position is hybrid based in Sioux Falls, with travel up to 35% to support job sites and company facilities as needed.

The ideal candidate brings three to five years of hands-on systems or infrastructure administration experience, with solid grounding in Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware or Hyper-V, and network fundamentals like switches, routers, VPNs, and firewalls. Familiarity with cloud and hybrid environments, patch and backup workflows, and PowerShell scripting is valued. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills matter as much as technical depth, since you'll be collaborating across teams and with external partners.

Interstates offers competitive compensation between $79,100 and $108,770, plus benefits including health and dental coverage, 401(k), performance bonuses, and support for professional development and licensure.
