About this role

Ascension's Austin staffing office needs someone to manage the day-to-day mechanics of keeping shifts filled across a healthcare operation running morning through evening. You'd oversee a team of Staffing Office Coordinators, monitor key metrics like fill rates and response times, and jump in when complex staffing issues or cancellations need resolution. The role bridges clinical leadership, recruiting, and frontline scheduling—partnering across departments to make sure staffing decisions support both immediate needs and longer-term workforce strategy.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of leadership experience and ideally five years working in healthcare staffing scheduling. You'll need a high school diploma with three years of relevant work experience, or an associate's or bachelor's degree with two years of experience (or seven years in the field without formal credentials). Beyond hitting metrics, you'll be expected to spot inefficiencies, reduce reliance on premium labor, and find ways to improve staff satisfaction and process consistency.

This is a full-time, in-office position in Austin with Ascension, a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its workforce and recognized as a military-friendly employer.
