About this role
Leading observability transformation at enterprise scale requires someone who can architect Dynatrace strategy while also getting hands-on with implementation challenges. At Orion Innovation, this Chief Architect role centers on defining observability and DevOps standards across a diverse client base—financial services, automotive, telecom, and more—with Dynatrace SaaS as the primary focus and DevOps/DevSecOps governance as a secondary responsibility. You'd own everything from reference architectures and technology evaluations to complex troubleshooting, AIOps integration, and driving adoption across applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes environments.
This is a hybrid position in Columbus that blends strategic leadership with deep technical execution. You'll establish Gold Standards for APM, distributed tracing, alerting, SLIs/SLOs, and incident detection; lead hands-on Dynatrace implementations and enterprise rollouts; troubleshoot performance and instrumentation issues; and partner with application, SRE, and infrastructure teams to reduce MTTD and MTTR. The role also requires building reusable assets—dashboards, onboarding frameworks, runbooks, and architecture decision records—and measuring adoption and compliance across the organization.
The position demands 15+ years in architecture, application performance, or observability work, with mandatory strong hands-on Dynatrace expertise including OneAgent, ActiveGate, distributed tracing, and Davis AI. You need proven ability to design observability standards, troubleshoot complex systems, evaluate and implement AIOps platforms, and drive enterprise adoption at scale. This suits someone who thrives balancing strategic architecture governance with the technical depth required to solve real performance and reliability problems.
