Description
Xometry (NASDAQ: XMTR) powers the industries of today and tomorrow by connecting the people with big ideas to the manufacturers who can bring them to life. Xometry’s digital marketplace gives manufacturers the critical resources they need to grow their business while also making it easy for buyers at Fortune 1000 companies to tap into global manufacturing capacity.
We are seeking a Technical Executive Communications Manager to build and elevate the internal and external narrative for our technical leadership. In this role, you will shape high-impact messaging that translates complex technical, product, and architectural milestones into compelling stories for both technical and non-technical audiences. Your time will be split 80% dedicated to our Chief Technology Officer and 20% to our CXO and leadership team (focused specifically on technical and product storytelling). The ideal candidate thrives in Product-Led Growth (PLG) environments, understands how product features drive business value, and possesses the technical fluency needed to ghostwrite authentic content alongside engineers, product managers, and executive leaders.
How You’ll Contribute:
CTO Communications Strategy (80%)
- Drive the CTO's narrative strategy, positioning them as a prominent thought leader in software architecture, AI/ML, engineering culture, and product innovation.
- Draft external content including keynote presentations, technical blog posts, op-eds, podcast talking points, social media posts, and media briefing materials.
- Support CTO speaking events, keynotes, panel discussions and media ops as appropriate
- Draft product news-based press releases and media announcements in close partnership with corporate communications.
- Develop internal communications to align engineering, product, and cross-functional teams around technical roadmaps, architectural shifts, and product vision.
- Collaborate with product marketing, communications, and engineering teams to translate complex product capabilities into customer-centric storytelling.
CXO and Leadership Communications Support (20%)
- Support the preparation of select keynote decks and external product & technical-based commentary.
Cross-Functional Execution
- Work closely with the VP of Communications to ensure all executive narratives align with the overarching communications strategy.
- Establish a clear tone of voice for executives that feels authentic, authoritative, and engaging.
What You'll Bring to Xometry:
- Experience: 5–8+ years in technical executive communications, corporate communications, PR, or technical content strategy within the B2B tech industry.
- Domain Expertise: Proven track record in a Product-Led Growth (PLG) technology company, with an innate understanding of how product usage, developer ecosystem dynamics, and SaaS metrics feed executive narratives.
- Technical Fluency: Demonstrated ability to interview technical stakeholders (engineers, software architects, product leaders) and translate dense product/technical concepts into sharp, accessible content.
- Writing & Visual Storytelling: Exceptional ghostwriting, editing, and speechwriting skills. Ability to bring concepts to life in both written form and visual/motion mediums—including giving direction to creative resources and/or using digital/AI tools to execute independently.
- AI & Digital Tool Native: Native comfort incorporating digital and AI tools into daily workflow processes (as an enhancement to execution, not a substitute for strategic thinking).
- Executive Presence: High emotional intelligence and confidence working directly alongside C-level executives in a fast-paced environment.

About this role
Xometry is looking for someone to be the voice of its Chief Technology Officer and broader technical leadership—translating complex engineering and product work into narratives that resonate with both technical and business audiences. You'd spend most of your time (80%) developing the CTO's thought leadership across keynotes, blog posts, op-eds, and media appearances, while also supporting select communications for other executives. The remaining 20% focuses on product-driven storytelling that connects technical capabilities to customer value.
This role demands 5–8+ years in technical communications, PR, or content strategy at B2B tech companies, ideally those with Product-Led Growth models. You need genuine technical fluency—the ability to sit with engineers and architects, understand what they're building, and distill it into clear, compelling prose for varied audiences. Strong ghostwriting and speechwriting skills are essential, as is comfort directing creative resources or using AI tools to amplify your output. The position requires working closely with C-level executives in a fast-moving environment, so emotional intelligence and executive presence matter as much as writing ability.
If you've built narratives around developer ecosystems, SaaS metrics, or architectural innovation and thrive when translating "inside baseball" into external positioning, this hybrid role in Lexington could be a strong fit.
