About this role
Kelso Building Services is looking for someone to monitor and manage building automation systems remotely for commercial facilities across the evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. You'll review system activity and alerts, identify operational issues, coordinate service responses, and keep customers informed—essentially serving as the eyes and ears for facility performance when on-site teams aren't present. The work combines technology troubleshooting with customer communication in a fast-paced environment where you'll need to juggle multiple tasks and make sound decisions under pressure.
The ideal candidate has a technical background—whether in HVAC, facilities, controls, dispatching, maintenance, or technical support—though KBS emphasizes they'll provide training on their building automation platforms. You'll need strong computer skills, the ability to pick up new software quickly, solid organizational habits, and genuine customer service instincts. This is a remote role, but it requires commitment to evening and overnight availability, weekend work, and rotating holiday coverage.
If you're drawn to operational roles where technology and problem-solving matter, and you're comfortable with shift work, KBS positions this as a genuine entry point into the building automation field with room to grow into technical or leadership positions.
