About this role
Griffis Residential is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their San Diego community, where you'd handle the full spectrum of technical upkeep across luxury apartment homes. The role centers on responsive repair work—plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances—with a 30-minute response commitment to resident requests, plus preventative maintenance, pool and spa management, and grounds care. You'd work under the Service Manager's direction and collaborate across teams to maintain both the physical community and resident satisfaction.
The position calls for at least one year in multi-family housing or hospitality maintenance, strong technical knowledge across multiple systems, and the ability to work independently while staying physically active in variable conditions. A CPO license and EPA certification are preferred but can be obtained within your first six months. You'll need solid communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the capacity to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
Griffis Residential offers a comprehensive benefits package including a 50% rental discount, paid time off starting at three weeks, medical and dental coverage, a 401(k) match, and performance bonuses tied to community metrics. The salary range is $25–$28.50 per hour. Note that this is listed as a volunteer position, which may affect how benefits and employment terms apply—clarification with the company would be advisable before applying.
