About this role

University of Tennessee at Martin's Admissions office seeks an Administrative Associate to serve as a central operational hub for the department. You'll manage the full admissions cycle—from application processing and document tracking to applicant communications—while handling financial oversight, procurement, and vendor relationships. The role also encompasses hiring and onboarding temporary staff, coordinating recruitment logistics and travel, managing social media communications, and fielding inquiries from prospective and current students about policies and deadlines.

This position requires at least four years of office experience (preferably in higher education), or an equivalent combination of an Associate's degree with two years of relevant experience. You'll need strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to juggle competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Success here depends on your ability to work both independently and collaboratively with students, faculty, and the public, along with a willingness to occasionally work weekends and evenings. A bachelor's degree is preferred, and you should be comfortable learning university-specific systems and databases.
