About this role
Law Offices of Robert S. Gitmeid & Assoc. is a consumer protection firm based in New York's Financial District, and they're hiring a full-time Associate Attorney to work remotely from Kansas. You'd manage a substantial and varied caseload of consumer clients, handling everything from debt collector harassment cases to broader consumer law matters. The work spans drafting pleadings and legal memoranda, conducting legal research on contract and consumer law issues, negotiating with opposing parties, and communicating directly with clients—all while coordinating with the New York headquarters via phone, email, and Teams.
The role demands strong organizational skills, exceptional written and oral communication, and the ability to handle a heavy workload under tight deadlines. You'll need to be admitted to practice in Kansas with at least one year of law firm experience; LexisNexis proficiency is valued. While remote-based, you'll travel for court appearances as needed. The firm offers competitive compensation at $90,000, medical/dental/vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer match, and paid time off, alongside what they describe as a collaborative team environment.
This position suits someone looking to build depth in consumer protection law with exposure to diverse legal issues and the chance to develop client relationships directly, provided you're comfortable with substantial caseloads and remote-first operations.
