About this role

Firetecnics, part of Helix International Group, is seeking an experienced Fire Extinguisher Engineer to join its field-based team across London and surrounding areas. You'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of portable fire extinguisher management—from routine annual servicing and overhauls through to commissioning new installations and conducting compliance surveys. The work demands precision and accountability; you'll be inspecting equipment against BS 5306 standards, identifying non-compliant or defective units, maintaining detailed asset records and certification trails, and ensuring every site meets regulatory requirements under the company's BAFE SP101 accreditation.

This role suits someone with proven extinguisher servicing experience and a recognised competency qualification (such as BAFE or FIA certification). You'll need solid knowledge of British Standards, strong fault-finding ability, and the discipline to keep meticulous records via handheld and portal systems. Beyond the technical work, you'll represent Firetecnics professionally on customer sites, building relationships and identifying opportunities for additional services—so customer-facing communication skills matter as much as technical competence.

The company offers a competitive salary tailored to your experience, backed by private healthcare, a matched pension, 25 days holiday, and clear progression opportunities within a collaborative, compliance-focused business. A full UK driving licence is essential, and you'll need to maintain your own vehicle, tools and test equipment to high standards.
