About this role

Lucid Motors is seeking an Automation Manager to lead operational technology across its Saudi Arabia powertrain manufacturing facility. This is a functional leadership role spanning PLC/SCADA systems, robotics, machine vision, and OT cybersecurity for the AMP-2 Drive Unit and HV Battery shops. You would own the full lifecycle from commissioning through stable high-volume production, responsible for defining standards across Siemens, Rockwell, and Beckhoff platforms, governing FANUC and ABB robotics fleets, and ensuring compliance with functional safety and industrial cybersecurity frameworks.

The role demands deep technical expertise paired with business acumen. Beyond day-to-day controls and systems governance, you'll manage Capex/Opex budgets, supplier performance, and service contracts while leading FAT/SAT activities and production-release criteria. You'll establish escalation protocols, KPI cadence, and corrective-action governance to support safe launch and operational excellence. A significant part of the mandate is building Saudi national capability—recruiting, developing, and cross-training local engineers and technicians through coaching and knowledge transfer.

This position suits someone with 10+ years in industrial automation and robotics, including 5+ years in team leadership and greenfield automotive launches. You'll need multi-platform PLC expertise, hands-on robotics and safety knowledge, and fluency in functional safety and OT cybersecurity. Arabic language skills are strongly preferred. The role is fully remote but requires authorization to work around automated and high-voltage equipment on-site when needed.
