About this role

Naomi House & Jacksplace is looking for a gardening volunteer to develop and maintain their outdoor spaces in Sutton Scotney. You'd be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep—weeding, planting, watering, pruning—alongside keeping pathways and communal areas safe and welcoming. The role also involves supporting seasonal projects that create sensory and therapeutic gardens, working with staff, other volunteers, and the people the organisation supports to encourage outdoor engagement.

This suits someone with a genuine interest in gardening who works well both independently and as part of a team. No formal qualifications are needed; the organisation values reliability, enthusiasm, and good communication more highly. You'll need to flag maintenance or safety issues as they arise and help foster an inclusive, positive environment. Training will be provided where required.

The volunteer position offers practical experience in grounds maintenance, the chance to build skills and connections, and the satisfaction of creating outdoor spaces that genuinely benefit the people using them. It's a hands-on role for someone committed to making a tangible difference locally.
