About this role
IMC's BP&A Team sits at the intersection of trading, finance, and operations, providing the analytics and reporting that drive decision-making across the firm. In this role, you'd own the full lifecycle of data projects—from extracting and modeling information through to presenting insights that shape strategy. You'd work with teams across Trading, Finance, Mid Office, and HR in Sydney, while collaborating with colleagues in Amsterdam and Chicago on initiatives with global reach.
The technical foundation matters here. You'll need strong Python skills and hands-on experience building reports in tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik, alongside solid SQL proficiency. Database development, ETL process design, and automation are core responsibilities, as is managing the pipeline from development through to production. A quantitative background (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar) and at least three years in data analysis or BI work are expected.
Beyond the technical toolkit, IMC values people who think like business partners. You'd need to translate requirements from different departments, identify what analysis actually matters, and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Comfort in a fast-moving environment, some exposure to finance, and experience with version control tools like Git round out the profile. This is an in-office role in Sydney, full-time.
