The candidate should be capable of managing a fast-paced delivery schedule and influence and drive a high-level engineering strategy with the leadership, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, know how to deliver, are deeply technical, highly innovative, and long for the opportunity to build pioneering solutions to challenging problems, this role is for you. Come help us build an automated e-commerce optimization suite of products!

About this role

CommerceIQ is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead one of its core product lines—a digital shelf analytics platform used by Fortune 100 consumer brands like Coca-Cola, Nestlé, and PepsiCo. You would own engineering delivery and strategy for a team of 15+ engineers across multiple managers, responsible for shipping scalable, reliable products that directly impact customer ROI in e-commerce optimization. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll make both technical and business decisions that shape the product roadmap and company direction, while working closely with Product, Sales, and Client Services to meet aggressive delivery timelines.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in leadership, ideally managing other engineering managers. You should have deep expertise building distributed systems on GCP or AWS, proven success delivering enterprise SaaS at scale, and a track record of recruiting and developing top engineering talent. The role demands someone who is equally comfortable with strategy and implementation—capable of setting technical vision while staying hands-on, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

This is a full-time, in-office position in Bengaluru. CommerceIQ is pre-IPO, well-funded by SoftBank and Insight Partners, and operates across multiple geographies, so you'd be joining a mature but rapidly scaling organization with real product-market fit.
