About this role
SK Hynix's San Jose office is seeking a QA test engineer intern to validate enterprise-grade NVMe SSDs against industry standards and custom specifications. Over six months, you'll develop and execute test cases aligned with NVMe and Open Compute Project specs, write automated test scripts in Python or Java, and prepare lab systems running Linux, Windows, and VMWare environments. The role also includes hands-on equipment maintenance and a forward-looking component: building AI-powered agents to streamline testing workflows and integrate with test management systems.
This internship suits someone with a computer science or related degree background who is comfortable working independently with Linux and Windows systems and has some coding experience. While prior storage or NVMe knowledge is preferred, the core requirement is strong analytical thinking and genuine willingness to learn—you'll need both to troubleshoot issues and develop solutions with minimal supervision. Familiarity with AI tools and agentic workflows is highly desired and will set you apart. The position runs full-time at $35–$45 per hour, starting November or December 2026.
