Here, innovation isn’t simply about protecting and defending our company. We develop solutions that are practical today and scalable tomorrow; and we create collaborative teams dedicated to innovation across each of our businesses to share our common values and vision.
The GRC Cloud Security Analyst (official title: Staff GRC Assurance Analyst I), a thought leader residing within our security organization, is responsible for leading cloud security compliance audits, control evaluations, and risk assessments across our multi-cloud environments, including AWS and Azure. This role will assess cloud security controls against company policies aligned with security industry control frameworks and standards to provide independent, risk-based assurance over both cloud-native and internally developed security controls, improve the quality and consistency of audit evidence, identify meaningful control weaknesses, and help engineering and security teams implement sustainable, auditable solutions across AWS and Azure. This role must collaborate effectively with engineering and operations counterparts as well as internal and external partners to identify, articulate, prioritize, manage, and monitor security risks to protect SHEIN data, services, and information assets.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct risk-based security audits across AWS and Azure environments to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of preventive, detective, and corrective cloud security controls.
- Assess compliance with company policies and control requirements aligned with security industry control frameworks and standards.
- Review cloud security evidence, including architecture diagrams, configurations, logs, access records, tickets, approvals, monitoring outputs, source documentation, and system generated reports.
- Assess the completeness, accuracy, reliability, and auditability of data produced by internal systems.
- Identify control gaps, determine their risk severity, and provide practical recommendations.
- Prepare clear audit reports and communicate findings to technical teams, control owners, management, and other stakeholders.
- Partner with engineering and IT teams to develop and track remediation plans, validate corrective actions, and support formal risk acceptance or exception processes.
- Advise control owners on control design, evidence retention, testing procedures, and sustainable remediation.
- Contribute to continuous compliance monitoring and opportunities to automate control testing and evidence collection.
- Develop metrics and reporting that communicate cloud control effectiveness, unresolved risks, remediation status, and recurring control issues.
Job Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity GRC, technology risk, IT audit, security
assurance, or a related discipline, with meaningful experience assessing cloud
environments. - Demonstrated ability to plan and execute audits or control assessments, including
scoping, walkthroughs, evidence review, testing, issue documentation, and remediation
validation. - Practical knowledge of AWS and Azure security concepts, including:
- Identity and privileged access management
- Network security and segmentation
- Encryption and key management
- Logging, monitoring, and incident detection
- Asset and configuration management
- Vulnerability and patch management
- Data protection and retention
- Backup, recovery, and resilience
- Experience applying or assessing controls against ISO 27001/27017, CSA CCM, CIS
Controls, and cloud-provider CIS Benchmarks. - Relevant certifications, such as CCSP, CCSK, CISA, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead
Auditor/Implementer, AWS Certified Security or Microsoft Azure Security Engineer
Associate are preferred. - Experience with evaluating the integrity and reliability of internally generated security or
compliance data. - Ability to assess control effectiveness based on risk and control objectives rather than
relying solely on vendor certifications, product features, or checklist-based compliance. - Detail oriented and highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to
thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize accordingly. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex and

About this role
SHEIN's Global Security team is looking for an experienced cloud security professional to lead compliance audits and control assessments across their AWS and Azure environments. In this role, you'd evaluate the design and effectiveness of cloud security controls against industry frameworks like ISO 27001, CSA CCM, and CIS Benchmarks, then work with engineering and operations teams to close gaps and implement sustainable solutions. The position demands both technical depth—you'll need solid knowledge of identity management, encryption, logging, and other core cloud security domains—and the ability to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders ranging from technical teams to management.
This is a hands-on audit and assurance role rather than a pure security operations position. You'll plan risk-based audits, review evidence across architecture diagrams and system logs, assess control effectiveness, and guide remediation efforts. Success requires at least five years in GRC, IT audit, or security assurance with meaningful cloud experience, plus the judgment to evaluate controls based on actual risk rather than vendor claims or compliance checklists. Relevant certifications like CCSP, CISA, or AWS/Azure security credentials are preferred. The in-office position in Los Angeles offers a salary range of $102,600 to $168,600, along with standard benefits including healthcare, HSA employer funding, and equity eligibility.
