About this role

NDBS, a mechanical design/build firm within Kelso Industries, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead the layout and design of HVAC piping and sheet metal systems for commercial and industrial projects across the country. With 10+ years of experience required, you'll own detailed Revit models from concept through installation, coordinate designs in Navisworks to resolve conflicts with other trades, and produce construction-ready drawings and specifications. Your work will span diverse project types—healthcare, food processing, manufacturing, warehouses, and refrigerated facilities—all designed with energy efficiency and lifecycle cost in mind.

This role combines technical depth with mentorship and collaboration. You'll partner closely with engineers to size and route systems while accounting for installation sequencing and field access, guide junior designers on piping and sheet metal best practices, and support field teams through RFI responses and commissioning. Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and Navisworks is essential, along with solid working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. Experience with data center, healthcare, food processing, or industrial projects, plus familiarity with fabrication-level modeling or spool drawing tools, would strengthen your candidacy.

Based in St. Louis, the position is hybrid with minimal travel and reports to the BIM Manager. NDBS emphasizes career development, autonomy, and a collaborative culture within a larger organization of 5,000+ employees across 40+ companies. Direct applications only; external recruiters should not submit candidates.
