About this role

Senior Care Therapy is hiring a Deputy Director/Project Manager to support the Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration in Washington, DC. You would serve as the primary liaison between SCT and government contracting officers, taking full responsibility for contract performance and day-to-day project execution. This is a leadership role requiring you to oversee project staff, manage both contractual and technical requirements, and ensure quality standards are met while providing technical and analytical support to NA-11 leadership across their research, development, testing, and experimental science programs.

The ideal candidate brings at least 10 years of experience in program management or research at an NNSA laboratory or equivalent government setting in national security, defense, or intelligence work, paired with an advanced STEM degree (MS or PhD). You'll need an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a fully adjudicated T5 background investigation already in place. Prior experience supporting NNSA's Office of Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation is preferred. The role demands strong contract management skills alongside genuine scientific or engineering expertise relevant to NNSA's mission—this isn't a pure management position, but one where technical credibility matters.

The position is full-time and in-office at DOE/NNSA facilities in the Washington, DC area, with a salary range of $150,000 to $200,000. SCT provides standard benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) with employer matching. Note that any offer is contingent on contract award and government approval.
