Description
Join a Premier National Physician Group Expanding in Rhinebeck
In the heart of the Hudson Valley, medical prestige shouldn't come at the cost of your quality of life. Skilled Wound Care is seeking motivated physicians to lead wound care initiatives within Skilled Nursing Facilities throughout Rhinebeck and the surrounding Dutchess County/Hudson Valley communities.
Whether you are a physician who left a large hospital system for the promise of small-town practice but found yourself just as buried in RVU targets and committee meetings, or a surgeon looking for meaningful clinical work without rebuilding a referral base from scratch, we offer clinical autonomy without the corporate bureaucracy that has followed independent medicine even here.
The Hudson Valley Physician Advantage
Rhinebeck drew you in for the pace of life, the community, and the scenery. Here's how we help you actually live it:
- A Schedule Built Around Your Life: No nights, no weekends, and zero "on-call" responsibilities. When your rounds are done, you're truly off, leaving time for the orchards, the river towns, the Culinary Institute's restaurants, and the reason you chose the Hudson Valley in the first place.
- No More Long Drives for Diminishing Returns: We know the frustration of crisscrossing Dutchess, Ulster, and Columbia counties between facilities for a system that doesn't respect your time. We build efficient, predictable routes so your day doesn't disappear into your car.
- Efficiency Over "Epic" Fatigue: Our custom software is built to be fast and intuitive, so you're not spending your evenings finishing notes instead of being present with your family or your community.
- Clinical Sovereignty: Regional systems like Nuvance Health and Vassar Brothers have consolidated fast, and independent decision-making can feel like it's disappearing along with them. With us, you are the expert on the ground, managing outcomes based on your clinical judgment, not a distant administrator's dashboard.
- A Real Alternative to the City Commute: You don't have to choose between Hudson Valley living and a Manhattan-sized paycheck. This role lets you build a serious income while staying rooted in the community you live in.
Compensation & Benefits
- Average Annual Earnings: $250,000 – $300,000 (No earning cap as an Independent Contractor).
- High Achievers: Top performers earn $400,000+ via performance bonuses.
- Pay Structure: Per-patient and per-procedure pay + quarterly bonus programs—a structure designed for the high-achiever.
- Expert Training: We bridge the gap between your current specialty and wound care with 36 hours of company-provided CME, workshops, and specialized training.
Meaningful Clinical Work
Utilize the latest advancements in wound healing to change lives across the Hudson Valley's tight-knit communities:
- Surgical Debridement and other bedside procedures.
- Advanced Dressings and specialized wound protocols.
- Collaborative Care within the post-acute setting.
Requirements
- Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Clear/Unrestricted New York Medical License: (Or eligibility to obtain one).
- DEA License (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Completed Residency: Must have successfully completed an accredited residency program
- Open Background: We welcome Surgeons of all backgrounds, Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine physicians. No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive specialty training.

About this role
Skilled Wound Care is recruiting physicians to lead wound care services across skilled nursing facilities in Rhinebeck and surrounding Dutchess County. This contract role offers a $250,000–$300,000 base with performance bonuses reaching $400,000+ for top earners, structured around per-patient and per-procedure compensation plus quarterly incentives. The position requires an MD or DO, an unrestricted New York medical license, and a DEA license, but no prior wound care experience—the company provides 36 hours of specialized training to bridge any knowledge gaps.
The role centers on clinical autonomy in a post-acute setting: you'll perform surgical debridement and bedside procedures, manage advanced wound protocols, and make treatment decisions based on your judgment rather than distant administrative oversight. The schedule is built explicitly around quality of life—no nights, weekends, or on-call duties, with efficient routing through facilities so your day doesn't vanish into driving. The company uses custom software designed for speed, reducing the documentation burden that typically consumes evenings.
This opportunity appeals to physicians seeking meaningful clinical work without the bureaucratic weight of large hospital systems or the burden of rebuilding a private practice. Whether you're a surgeon, family medicine, or internal medicine physician, the role offers a genuine alternative to the regional consolidation that has squeezed autonomy across the Hudson Valley while letting you remain rooted in the community.
