General Surgeon Requirements
- Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution

Skilled Wound Care is seeking a General Surgeon for a part-time position in Memphis focused on wound care management in skilled nursing facilities. The role centers on surgical and sharp debridement, evaluation and treatment of chronic and complex wounds, and bedside procedures—allowing you to maintain active surgical skills in a lower-acuity setting. You'll work collaboratively with post-acute care teams, following patients through their healing process while using advanced wound protocols and specialized dressings.
This position offers a fundamentally different practice model from traditional hospital surgery. There is no call, no nights or weekends, and no emergency cases—a true Monday through Friday schedule that preserves your personal time. You'll have clinical autonomy in patient decision-making without navigating hospital committees or productivity targets, and the company's custom documentation software is designed to minimize administrative burden. Compensation ranges from $200,000 to $250,000 annually with performance bonuses available, structured on a per-patient and per-procedure basis with no earning cap as an independent contractor.
You'll need an MD or DO from an accredited institution, an unrestricted medical license in Tennessee (or eligibility to obtain one), and a DEA license or eligibility for one. No prior wound care experience is required; Skilled Wound Care provides comprehensive training.
