About this role

Trilon Group's Alternative Delivery Team is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead design-build transportation projects across North Carolina and the Southeast. You'd own the full lifecycle of major highway infrastructure initiatives—from initial planning and risk mitigation through contract administration and quality assurance—while directing multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and subconsultants. This role demands someone with at least 10 years in highway infrastructure design and a minimum of 5 years specifically managing NCDOT design-build projects, backed by an active North Carolina PE license.

Success here means balancing technical rigor with client management: you'll be the primary point of contact for construction clients and owner agencies, responsible for keeping projects on schedule and budget while maintaining quality standards. The position also involves business development—collaborating with contractor partners on design-build pursuits. You should be comfortable with contract administration, subcontractor oversight, and the kind of detail-oriented problem-solving that comes with complex infrastructure delivery.

The company offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus, competitive base salary, strong PTO and holiday schedules, a 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, and formal mentorship and career development tracks for both management and technical advancement. This is an in-office role in Charlotte requiring willingness to travel and be assigned to projects across the region.
