About this role

Supporting Hearst Magazines' sales organization means handling the operational backbone of advertising deals across a portfolio of 30+ iconic brands—Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Harper's BAZAAR, and others. You'll manage RFPs, coordinate client requests, process insertion orders, and serve as the liaison between clients and the sales team as campaigns move from prospect to execution. The work spans print, digital, and social advertising, so you'll develop broad exposure to how modern media sales actually function across multiple platforms.

The role calls for someone organized and detail-oriented who can juggle competing priorities without losing track of deadlines or client needs. You'll need at least a year in sales support, media, advertising, or customer service; strong communication skills; and solid Excel and PowerPoint proficiency. Beyond the core responsibilities, you'll also prepare market analyses, monitor industry news for sales leads, and handle administrative support like expense tracking and travel coordination—the kind of varied work that builds real business acumen if you're genuinely interested in learning how the industry operates.

This is a full-time hybrid position in New York City (four days in office) at a $50,000 base salary with no bonus structure. Hearst offers comprehensive benefits from day one, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, and access to training programs and industry events. It's a solid entry or early-career move if you want hands-on experience in media and advertising sales without needing prior expertise in the space.
