Responsibilities
• Own end-to-end discovery and requirements for large, complex, or cross-functional initiatives, from initial framing through delivery and adoption.
• Structure ambiguous or loosely defined problems into a clear analysis approach, sequence of decisions, and set of deliverables.
• Produce and maintain the requirements artifacts a complex initiative needs, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process and data flows, business rules, and integration or data mappings.
• Anticipate downstream impacts, exception paths, integration needs, and organizational dependencies before they affect delivery.
• Facilitate alignment among senior stakeholders with different needs, constraints, and priorities, and drive open questions to closure.
• Present analysis, options, and recommendations clearly to business and technology leaders, including the implications of each option.
• Influence solution direction by framing tradeoffs in terms of business outcome, risk, effort, and downstream cost.

• 5-7 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, automation, AI initiatives, technology implementations, or related disciplines.

• Familiarity with design collaboration tools such as Figma, and with AI assistants or automation platforms used to accelerate analysis work.
• Advanced facilitation and negotiation skills, including experience aligning senior stakeholders with competing priorities.
• Strong written communication, with a record of documentation that others rely on to make and defend decisions.
• Sound judgment about scope, risk, and tradeoffs, with the credibility to raise concerns to senior audiences.
• Advanced certification in business analysis or agile delivery, such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or a recognized agile credential.

About this role

Northmarq is looking for a senior analyst who can own discovery and requirements for large, complex initiatives in data, automation, and AI—roles that sit at the intersection of business strategy and technology delivery. You'd be responsible for bringing structure to ambiguous problems, aligning senior stakeholders across competing priorities, and producing the requirements artifacts (user stories, data flows, business rules, integration mappings) that guide delivery. This is independent, high-ownership work: you'll anticipate downstream impacts and organizational dependencies, present options and tradeoffs clearly to business and technology leaders, and influence solution direction by framing decisions in terms of business outcome and risk.

The role also has a strong mentoring and capability-building component. You'd coach junior and mid-level analysts in discovery facilitation and documentation standards, review their work with constructive feedback, and help the team adopt consistent practices. Success is measured not just by the complexity you handle independently, but by how much stronger the team becomes and how durable the stakeholder alignment you create.

You'll need 5–7 years in business analysis, data analytics, automation, or AI initiatives, plus demonstrated experience leading requirements across multiple teams or business units. Depth in data platforms, integration, reporting, workflow automation, and AI-enabled capabilities is essential. The role is based in Minneapolis with a flexible schedule that emphasizes in-office collaboration but allows remote work when appropriate. Salary ranges from $90,000 to $130,000. U.S. work authorization without sponsorship is required.
